Övreforsen

Övreforsen, or The Upper Rapids, is located within walking distance from the Kraddsele village. The channel at the uppermost part of the stretch is where you are most likely to find the Ammarnäs trout, lurking along the edges. Moreover, this whole area truly is the grayling fisherman’s dream.

The Ammarnäs trout is very important to us as a resource, and ALL trout must be returned to the river.
The fishing is totally reliant on a local and natural fish stock. Regulations and bag limits are there to ensure the continued existence of the wild fish. A total ban on all trout fishing begins on September 15, when the trout begin to spawn. However, you are still allowed to fish for grayling.

Please treat all fish with the utmost respect and handle them with care, for our future generations!
